Ella Mei grew up doing youth theatre throughout the greater Seattle area and dancing at Blue Dog Dance Studio, where she eventually became a teacher. She has continued teaching and choreographing throughout college with the Youth Theatre at the U and has developed a deep passion for working with kids and serving on creative teams.

Last fall, Ella Mei associate directed Legally Blonde at the University of Utah alongside director Erin Farrell Speer, and she is looking forward to assistant directing/choreographing at Salt Lake Acting Company this summer!

Beyond theatre…

…Ella Mei loves fashion, filmmaking, and spending as much time as possible with friends. She would gladly spend long periods of time discussing all things Harry Potter or Studio Ghibli, and is currently working to gain more film experience outside her major. Ella Mei grew up an avid reader with an expansive imagination, which later led her to musical theatre as a storytelling medium.
